Itinerary

ITINERARY in Broken Hill time (ACST):

7:30am meet at the front of the Broken Hill Civic Centre at 31 Chloride St for an 8am departure on Friday 4th October.
10:30am (approx) arrival at Mutawintji NP for a quick morning tea ie. fruit (no tea/coffee), so please be sure to eat breakfast and bring snacks if you need something more substantial to get you through to lunch.
Head off for a 2km educational stroll before arriving at the Mutawintji Cultural Centre to listen to a Seven Sisters Dreamtime story.
Next, the coach takes us 6km north to the Mutawintji Historic Site, established in 1927 as the first protected conservation area.
NOTE: This is a restricted area only accessible with an accredited Aboriginal guide. Aboriginal people from everywhere once gathered for ceremony business at this site, so this is a truly unique experience you won't want to miss!
1:30pm - Back to Visitor's Centre for a very leisurely lunch and yarn before heading back to Broken Hill.
5pm - Estimated time of arrival back at Broken Hill Civic Centre.

$ TBC per person includes travel, guided tour, food and beverages, along with wonderful company

EARLY BIRDS catch the worms... and in this case, will see the region's wild flowers in full bloom! For bookings, please DM (direct message) this page or email your name and phone number to [email protected] with your intention to attend the Mutawintji NP Tour. You'll be sent an email or DM with the Landcare Broken Hill bank account details to make your payment and secure your seat, so don't delay as there are limited spaces available on the coach. If you miss out this time, don't despair as we'll organise another tour post summer.

RECOMMENDED
Please wear sturdy shoes, a hat and clothes to suit weather conditions on the day, and bring a water bottle.

We hope you'll join us for a great day of exploring and learning more about this fascinating ancient region!
